Christian Women's Fellowship (CWF)
Christian Women's Fellowship (also known as Disciples Women) is a denomination-wide group for the purpose of spiritual growth, enrichment, education, service, and creative ministries, thus enabling women to develop a sense of personal responsibility for the mission of the Church.
CWF grew out of the missionary spirit of women in the early years of our denomination. CWF continues to give generously to missionary efforts both around the world and in local community helping agencies such as Crosslines, LaFayette House, ECHO, Children's Haven, Olive Branch, and Woodhaven.
Each month there are two CWF meetings in which women may participate.
The general meeting takes place on the first Wednesday of each month. It begins with Spiritual Life (a time of prayer and reflection) at 9:30. This is followed by a brief business meeting, brunch, and a guest speaker.
The group meetings take place on the second Wednesday of each month, one at 9:30 a.m. and one at 1:30 p.m. These meetings are often held either in members' homes or at the church. The groups have study, worship, and discussion of the lesson.
Our CWF group's big project each year is making and selling apple pies. Each September many of our women along with some helpful men make hundreds (some years over 1,000) pies which are sold frozen. The money earned helps support our efforts to reach out to the world.
