CHILDREN & YOUTH

Kids Age PreK – 4th Grade meet in the Where It’s At classroom on the 3rd floor for exploration, story time, and music.
Vacation Bible School
Our 2017 “God’s Love Is Everywhere” Vacation Bible School will be on three consecutive Thursdays: July 20, 27, and August 3 from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM with morning snack and lunch provided. It is open to children ages 3 years old to those who have finished the 5th grade, however parents with small children who may not be able to endure the full day may pick their children up after lunch.
One of the mission projects will be to make gift bags for people in crisis. Please start saving hotel samples of hygiene items. We will also need combs, socks, and gently worn T-shirts in any adult size.
Pre-registration is extremely helpful to our staff in planning for VBS. Please print and return the completed registration and permission forms as far in advance as possible! Thank you.
To volunteer to help, speak to Jess Faucett or Karen Kemp. Background screening is a pre-requisite, and our Child Protection training is also required.
For more information, call the church office at (417) 624-2522.
Grades 5-12 meet Sundays at 9:30 AM in the Youth Room on the 3rd floor for engaging topical discussion and reflection.
Throughout the school year, youth in 5-12th Grades meet on Sunday afternoons for additional activities of fellowship, service, and faith exploration. During the summer months, meetings are held once a month. Please see the calendar or newsletter for current activities.
SJCC proudly entered into a charter with BSA Troop #103 under the leadership of Scoutmaster Stg. Melvin Bowman II in May of 2017. They meet every Thursday in the church basement from 6:30-8:00 PM. For information, call Sgt. Bowman at (405) 226-1022.
Adults meet on Sunday mornings at 9:30 downstairs in room A11 and A12 off the Fellowship Hall for a variety of studies and discussions led by our pastors and/or lay leaders.
A weekly book club on Thursday evening meets for reflection, discussion, and fellowship at the home of one of our members. The books are of various theological opinions and authors, and are chosen by the group. For meeting dates and times, see the current church newsletter.

Joplin Interfaith Coalition

FELLOWSHIP FOR ALL AGES

- Monthly Potluck meals: the third Sunday of the month, immediately following morning worship
- Wednesday Suppers: 5:30 PM weekly from Sept – May; the meal is prepared and provided for a free-will offering; no reservations needed.
