Ministries for Youth and Children
 
Children and youth are important to us.  We recognize our need to nurture young people in faith,
to give them opportunities to develop a relationship with Jesus and to understand who they are
in light of God's presence and love in their lives.  One of our commitments is to 
continue to develop ministries for young people.

This newsletter is for families and children through 5th grade.  It contains ideas
for family activities, puzzles and games, faith lessons and calendars of events
both here at South Joplin Christian Church and in the community. 
 

 Ongoing Ministries

  

Children Worship & Wonder is a worship opportunity for children from age 3 1/2 through 1st grade.  It is a Montessori based ministry which values children's ability to receive and respond to the Bible stories.  In addition to learning Bible stories, children learn about sacred space and the value of people's time with God.  Children Worship & Wonder takes place at 10:45 a.m. in a worship space just outside the main sanctuary.

 

 

Sunday School is offered each Sunday for children ages 3 and up.  Our children and youth begin together by hearing that day's story then spend the remainder of the time in self-directed learning stations.

 

 

Nursery is provided on Sunday mornings for children 3 and under and during other meetings and ministries. 

 Upcoming Events and Ministries

 

Youth Group Meetings Underway...

  

Youth meetings are each Sunday evening from 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. 

 

Youth group is for all who are in 6th - 12th grades.  For more information or to receive a youth group schedule, email: pastor@southjoplindisciples.org.

 

 

Junior Youth Fellowship (JYF)

 

All children from kindergarten through 5th grade are invited to join us for monthly JYF events.  The first of these will be Sunday, February 19 following worship.  We will eat lunch together and then share in activities where we learn a little more about living out God's love.  Permission slips are needed for these events.  Contact the church office at 417-624-2522 to get a permission slip.
